Creating Your Social Media Marketing Plan
February 16, 2018
Social Media is’nt the easiest thing to get your hands on but its a great way to market your blog and business brand. The thing is everything in life needs a plan. A marketing plan can be created when ever you need to, I know for sure that I have been running around trying to figure social media out but until i put my plan into place social media has become extremely easier.
How do you create one? let me be honest its not something you can cook up in a minute and say my plan is done, there are a number of steps you will need to do.
These will help you conquer your marketing plan and keep you track to getting the best out of plan.
Choose Your Social Media Platforms
There are so many platforms to choose from but let me highlight that you don’t need to be on every platform there is. There are three things that you need to consider when choosing your platforms
- Audience: Who will be reading your content?
- Time: How much time are you able to give to each platform?
- Resources: Do you have the skills? Do you have the resources needed for the platform?
Complete Your Profiles
Every social platform has about me form that needs to be completed when you first sign up with them. You need to remember a completed profile shows that you are committed, professional and serious about your blog brand. which means the following aspects need to be completed
- Visuals (Profile pictures and Cover Pictures)
- Bio (a little description of your blog or brand)
What is your posting strategy?
I dont want to go into too much detail here, because I have a whole new blog post about it. but this step you will answer the folllowing questions
- What will I post?
- When will I post?
- How many times will I post?
Analyze and Test
review the progress of your platform, I haven’t gotten my social media right but i keep changing it , i notice the change and fix all my mistakes. so audit your profiles and make changes as much as you can.
this is the final step and the longest step, and will need a tool. OKay there are many out there and I have tried some (another post) but im not saying everything needs to be scheduled through the tool. In my opinion it takes the person out of it. but those posts that are generic or more formal can be scheduled the tool.
Bloggers:blog posts, competitions .etc
business: blog posts, marketing campaigns
I have mentioned 2 other posts in here and it will be out soon, Creating a marketing strategy is different sit down, take a breather and work out all the kinks.
Social media needs to enhance your brand not run it
